The Co-op Toledo Credit Union was originally
chartered as a Federal Credit Union in 1941 by our sponsoring organization, the
Toledo Consumers Cooperative Association. In
1967, we converted to a State Chartered Credit Union. Today, we have grown to include more than 3200 member-owners
with assets exceeding $8 million. Credit Unions, as non-profit financial organizations, exist to provide services and benefits to their members. Any income that is earned is returned to the members in the form of higher dividend rates, lower interest rates on loans and lower service fees.
Who is eligible to join our credit union? Eligibility in our credit union is open to everyone who wants to join our sponsoring organization, the Toledo Consumers Cooperative Association. There is a onetime, non-refundable $6.00 fee to join. To join the credit union just come by our office, or complete the membership application and send it by US Mail, fax it, or e-mail it to us. The initial minimum deposit is $11 in a share account. This deposit establishes ownership in the credit union and makes one eligible for all the benefits and services available. Once you have joined our credit union, all you need to do is maintain a minimum of $5 in your regular savings account, to keep your membership active. This will enable you to take advantage of all the benefits for which you qualify. You are mailed statements on a periodic basis and special mail pieces which provide you with information on various membership benefits. As a member of our credit union, you are one of the owners. Our credit union belongs to you. Support your credit union by using its many services. Once a member, always a member!
